The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Ford, Daimler, and Mack.

Ford Transit models may have tire damage from contact with wheel arch liner
Ford is recalling certain 2023-2024 Transit vehicles equipped with the Transit Trail package. The tires may contact the front wheel arch liner and body flange, causing damage to the tires. Damaged tires may experience a sudden loss of air pressure or tread separation, causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the crash risk.
This recall potentially affects 1,902 vehicles. The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed March 27. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S21.
Mack LR models may have missing fuses from methane detector
Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024-2025 LR natural gas vehicles. The methane detector may be inoperative due to a missing fuse. An inoperative methane detector can fail to detect a gas leak, increasing the fire risk or injury.
This recall potentially affects 106 vehicles. Dealers will install a fuse. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 24. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0461.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter models may have improperly secured 12-volt ground connections
Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. A 12-volt ground connection may not be secured properly, which can result in the ground connection overheating and a loss of drive power. An overheated ground connection can increase the fire risk, and a loss of drive power can increase the crash risk.
This recall potentially affects 99 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and repair the 12-volt ground connection as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 3. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS3HVERSL.
Reading dump body trucks may have inadequate clearance for electrical fuse terminals
Reading Truck Equipment is recalling certain 2021-2024 dump body trucks. Inadequate clearance may allow the hood to contact the main electrical fuse terminal. Contact with the main fuse terminal can cause electrical arcing, increasing the fire risk.
This recall potentially affects 48 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and relocate the fuse terminal and fuse. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29. Owners may contact Reading customer service at 800-458-2226.
