• EZE Trucking acquires heavy haul firm

    Aug. 8, 2013

EZE Trucking, a portfolio company of Atlantic Street Capital, has acquired Rig Runners, a heavy haul and over-dimensional trucking company for an undisclosed sum.

EZE is a provider of specialty and logistics services for the infrastructure, energy and industrial markets.

Rig Runners, founded in 1982, provides specialized heavy and line haul freight and logistics operations to national energy and industrial customers, primarily in the Texas market. Combined, the two companies will offer 16 terminals, over 700 trailers and 400 power units and drivers.

“The addition of Rig Runners’ strong team and extensive resources will greatly enhance our ability to serve existing customers operating in multiple geographies.  And as the largest specialized transportation business in the western U.S., EZE Trucking will provide existing and new customer both greater scale and a broader range of capabilities,” said Peter Marshall, CEO of EZE.
