Hendrickson has announced its new HN FR family of tandem rubber suspensions for fire & rescue truck applications

Hendrickson has announced its new HN FR family of tandem rubber suspensions for fire & rescue truck applications. The company stated the suspensions provide an "ideal combination of stability, ride quality, light weight, and articulation."

The HN FR Series, which was developed using Hendrickson’s walking beam design, is available exclusively for fire & rescue applications in tandem capacities of 42,000, 48,000, 54,000, and 58,000 lbs.

Hendrickson said the HN FR suspension system uses a VariRate spring system to balance empty ride quality and loaded stability. Its diagonally mounted rubber bolster springs act in compression and shear to deliver superior ride quality by dissipating road shock, while its extra wide spring centers and Hytrel auxiliary springs provide outstanding stability for high center of gravity applications and emergency driving conditions, according to the company.

No lubrication requirements and the elimination of center beam bushings make the HN FR system virtually maintenance-free, the company noted.
