HP Hood outfits vehicles with new Precedent C-600 refrigeration units

Nov. 27, 2013

HP Hood, a New England-based dairy, has selected 16 Precedent C-600 refrigeration units from Thermo King for its vehicles.

The Precedent C-600 includes Thermo King’s exclusive energy saving Smart Power Prep Package electric standby option. The package allows HP Hood at add electric standby power to the units without additional costs as it expands electric options at facilities.

Some HP Hood facilities already offer this capability.

“The Precedent C-600 meets our goals for fuel efficiency, reliability and emissions compliance,” said Peter Smith, fleet operations manager, HP Hood. “We also like that the electric-standby feature on the trailers enables us to manage fuel consumption of our idling trucks and that the system allows us to continue to add electric standby to systems as needed over time.”
