April 9, 2012

Diamond International of Springfield, MO, held a groundbreaking ceremony last week for its new truck dealership.

The facility, to be built at 2635 East Diamond St., will feature more than 20,000 sq. ft. of parts storage plus a drivers’ lounge with flat screen TV, Internet access, and free WiFi. There will also be 15 drive-thru service bays, a full length wash bay, and dedicated Accelerated Service bays.

“Diamond International of Springfield has been providing great service to our customers for more than 30 years,” said Dick Sweebe, president & CEO of Diamond Companies. “In order to support market growth for the long haul, we are building a new state-of-the-art facility that will deliver a higher standard of value to customers in the Springfield market.”

The ceremony was followed by a luncheon reception for customers and employees, and local community leaders including Jim O’Neal, mayor of Springfield. More than 350 guests attended, Diamond said.

The heating system in the new facility will utilize recycled waste oil and include energy saving lighting systems and energy efficient insulation and window products.

“Diamond International of Springfield has been a top performing dealership for many years,” said Steve Cook, vice president/general manager. “We believe that our customers deserve the very best customer service experience. This new facility and our investment in the Springfield market demonstrate our commitment to quality service and our customers. ”
