Mitchell 1 offers online testing service for state truck technician skills competitions

Feb. 4, 2014

Mitchell 1 is offering state trucking associations holding technician skills competitions in 2014 the ability to conduct part of those tests online through its online testing service.

The online testing service allows competition organizers to easily expand the areas in which they test their technicians, freeing up volunteers to help elsewhere and potentially increasing the number of contestants they can rotate through onsite event-day test stations, Mitchell 1 said.

The test measures the contestant’s ability to diagnose a problem and determine the proper fix using Mitchell 1 software, including Tractor-Trailer.net for repair information and Repair-Connect.net for diagnostics. By utilizing Mitchell 1’s online technician test, state organizers simply notify their contestants to log onto the test website from any computer with Internet access and complete the test within a specific time frame. At the conclusion of the test period, Mitchell 1 sends all results to the organizers to be included in the contestant’s final score.

This new online testing capability allows Mitchell 1 to support more events as states add technician skills competitions to their schedules.

Mitchell 1’s online service information solutions for the trucking industry have been utilized at the state and national level since the inception of the SuperTech competitions.

Mitchell 1 encourages state committees interested in utilizing this testing method for the service information portion of their competitions to contact Mitchell 1’s testing coordinator, Dan Kincaid at [email protected].
