Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America has introduced Diamond Gard, a manufacturer’s limited warranty program that pays for parts and labor charges that are the result of any mechanical failures to its heavy-duty aftermarket starters and alternators.

Covering products sold throughout North America before December 1, 2008, the warranty program covers all starters and alternators that fail under normal use and proper maintenance for a period of three years, Mitsubishi said.

“The Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Gard warranty program is unique in the heavy duty aftermarket,” said Denis Bigras, director, heavy-duty marketing and sales, North America, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America. “It’s a clear indication that we stand behind the products we make and shows that we have the utmost confidence in the quality and performance of our heavy duty starters and alternators.”

Claims must be submitted within 30 days of product failure, Mitsubishi said, with customers notified of claim resolution either by email or phone. Freight costs for all parts shipped under the warranty will be paid by Mitsubishi, with payment made directly to the customer.
