Continental Tire North America has added a curb/scuff rib feature to its HSR1 regional steer tire to add protection against damage due to curbing, cuts and abrasions.
The feature is available in the 245/70R19.5 size, typically used in medium-duty pick-up and delivery applications.
The HSR1 is an all-position tire featuring pyramidal stone ejectors in the tread grooves to reduce stone retention, a tread pattern designed for wet traction and a tread compound designed for long life in the regional hauling and on/off road applications, according to Continental
“All of the durability features of the HSR1 tire, including the new rib design, will help pick-up and delivery fleets reduce their overall driving costs through increased tire life,” said Clif Armstrong, Continental’s director of marketing for commercial vehicle tires – The Americas.
In addition to the 245/70R19.5 size, the HSR1 is also available in 285/70R19.5; 305/70R19.5; 255/70R22.5; 275/70R22.5; 295/80R22.5; and 315/80R22.5 sizes.
