The 2007 ISL G natural gas engine from Cummins Westport, available June 1, will meet EPA’s 2010 emissions standards for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and particulate matter (PM), according to the company.
Using cooled EGR and three-way catalyst aftertreatment to meet the stricter ’10 requirements, the 8.9L engine truck and bus engines will replace Cummins Westport’s C Gas Plus and L Gas Plus lean burn engines.
Horsepower ratings for the next-generation ISL G line will range from 250 to 320, with torque ratings pegged at 660 to 1,000 lb.-ft.
The company will announced extended warranty options before the engines are officially introduced.
