Shurepower has been awarded a New York State Energy and Development Authority (NYSERDA) “cost-shared” contract to demonstrate the no-idling benefits of Carrier Transicold’s hybrid diesel-electric trailer refrigeration unit in upstate New York.
The project will include the implementation of docking safety systems and advanced wiring connections for heavy-duty diesel trucks and refrigerated trailers at the Willow Run distribution facility in Kirkwood, NY. The demonstration project calls for a modified version of Shurepower’s Truck Electrified Parking (STEP) technology and will be integrated with docking systems manufactured by Rite-Hite Corp. to increase safety and reliability.
Carrier Transicold hybrid diesel-electric reefer units with Deltek technology allows shore power electricity to power the equipment in all duty cycles.
