Snap-on has increased the size of its popular Epiq tool storage unit to provide more room for additional tools or even larger tools in shops.
The Epiq “Mr. Big” tool storage unit, which measures 114 in. wide and 30 in. deep with 26 drawers, is a five-bank roll cab with PowerBank drawer. There is 25,319 sq. in. and 91,960 cu. in. of storage space, Snap-on said, with a 16,000-lb. load capacity.
“Our customers have asked for more space and load capacity when it comes to tool storage and we have delivered with Snap-on’s new Epiq ‘Mr. Big,’” said John Landree, product manager for Snap-on. “As our customers add more specialty tools and larger-sized tools to their tool assortment, it is imperative that they have storage space to hold and secure those tools. The Epiq ‘Mr. Big’ fulfills all those requirements and then some, keeping techs better organized so they can be more productive. It is a complete system with solid security and rugged durability.”
The unit is available with a rubber mat work surface or a stainless steel surface. It comes in 13 different colors.
Features of the unit include “InPulse drawer action for easier opening and closing of drawers that don’t drift open; the SuperCab drawer system that includes three 5 in. by 3 in. drawers with 4-in. depth; the Iso-Ride system, a 7 in. by 2 in. swivel-lock mag wheels with independent torsion spring suspension; and PowerBank drawer, which is a dedicated area with built-in power to let batteries recharge even while the bank is locked.
