Volvo announced the $1.34-billion purchase of Ingersoll Rand's road development equipment division, which has factories in the U.S., Germany, India and China. The division builds soil and asphalt compactors, asphalt pavers and material handling equipment.

Racor Div., the filtration arm of Hannifin Corp., has introduced an “open” crankcase filtration system designed to reduce contaminated crankcase emissions. Called Crankvent, it is available in two sizes: CV820 and CV1000. www.parker.com/racor
