Serpentine belt resists damage

A proprietary rubber compound for the new Gates Green Stripe serpentine engine belt increases service life by resisting damage from high operating temperatures and constant flexing, according to Gates. The FleetRunner Micro-V belt combines the new rubber compound with fibers and ground ribs to improve stability as it turns over the multiple pulleys in a serpentine drive system, according to Gates.
