The wave of the future has hit Navistar Parts, enabling its technicians, dealers and customers to learn about the latest parts and parts education through a virtual setting. The OEM said its Power Up Navistar Parts Virtual Conference and Sales Expo met with such great success that it has extended the online program through August.
“Virtual is the way of the future and Navistar is well positioned to take advantage of this new technology for the benefit of our dealers, our customers and our company,” said Rommel Miranda, vp-sales and marketing for Navistar Parts.
According to Navistar, the expo saw an increase in sales of almost 30% over the 2008 expo. The 2009 edition includes online education sessions, the ability to interact with suppliers and finalize deals via chat rooms, fill virtual bags with product literature, and network with colleagues.
“In the current environment, incurring costs that would have been typical for the previous year’s annual sales conferences didn’t fit the lean, responsible model for business that we were striving toward,” said Kathy Seegebrecht, vp-marketing & brand for Navistar Parts. “Bringing people together in an online environment made sense for both Navistar and our dealers. It was clearly a win-win situation as demonstrated by the fact that our online participation was three times greater than last year’s in-person attendance, at one- fifth of the cost. ”
The Virtual Conference is available 24/7 for convenience and includes speaker and educational videos.
