Sumitomo Tires has announced the release of three new medium truck radials for the heavy-duty truck market

Sumitomo Tires has announced the release of three new medium truck radials for the heavy-duty truck market: the ST778 long haul steer tire, the ST 709 regional steer, and the ST938 long haul drive tire.

According to the company, the ST778 long-haul steer tire features redesigned shoulder grooves that work with the flat tread to control irregular wear, micro sipes to protect the interior from punch wear, and 4/32nd’ stone ejectors to protect the casing from damage.

The ST709 regional haul tire, designed for applications with frequent stopping and starting, features a 20/32nd” tread depth applied to a wide, flat casing for greater rubber volume and longer life, Sumitomo said.

The ST938, created to work with the ST778 and ST709 steer radials, features 30/32nd” tread depth and is designed for long life, minimized irregular wear, excellent traction and handling stability, the company said.
