Virginia fleet adding capacity with 40 new Cascadia tractors

Fleetmaster Express, a Roanoke, VA-based trucking fleet, plans to add 40 2014 Freightliner Cascadia trucks to its current fleet, which includes over 300 trucks and 1,110 trailers.

Each truck will have DD13 Detroit engines, Eaton 10-speed transmission, Meritor Fuel Lite rear suspension and the MCP110 from Omnitracs. The trucks will also come fully equipped with Virtual Technician and Thermo King Tri Pac APU, the Evolution Model.

“After 10 years of operating an alternate OEM’s vehicle, we are excited about reintroducing the Freightliner chassis to our regional fleet,” said Carl Bumgarner, president and CEO. “With the proven reliability and fuel economy of the Detroit Diesel engine we expect to enjoy favorable operating results while furnishing a vehicle that delivers superb driver satisfaction.”

The trucks will be purchased through the Virginia Truck Center and will be added to Fleetmaster’s existing fleet during the fourth quarter of this year.

Fleetmaster provides over-the-road, local, and dedicated hauling as well as freight brokerage, warehousing and spotting services.
