ATA launches business issues newsletter

April 3, 2013

The American Trucking Assns. (ATA) has launched a quarterly newsletter to provide “critical information from industry leaders on the most pressing issues in trucking,” it said.

The newsletter, ATA Business of Trucking, will tackle issues pertinent to operating a trucking fleet.

“ATA Business of Trucking will provide readers with insight from key industry experts and thought leaders on topics that can have a real impact on their bottom line,” said Bill Graves, ATA president and CEO. “We’re launching this valuable product with a look at natural gas in trucking, a follow up to our successful ATA Summit on Natural Gas in Trucking, but we anticipate covering the length and breadth of trucking issues in the coming months.”

In the first issue, experts such as Kenneth W. Vieth, senior partner and general manager with ACT Research Co.; Doug Thomson, vice president, government relations and marketing with EcoDual; and Matt Most, vice president, commercial with Encana Natural Gas, explore the issues surrounding the transition from diesel to natural gas.

The experts explore the issues surrounding which fuel to use, the impact of increased weight, use of dual fuel systems and the return on investment from investing in natural gas trucks, ATA said.
