Boise to manage legal affairs at Meritor

Meritor announced that April Miller Boise has joined the company as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective immediately.

Meritor announced that April Miller Boise has joined the company as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective immediately.

"April's impressive background in corporate law will be a great asset to Meritor," said Jay Craig, CEO and president. "We are very happy she has decided to join us as the next step in her career."

Boise has responsibility for the legal affairs of the entire corporation and will manage the corporate legal department. She also directs legal activities related to corporate governance, acquisitions and divestitures, litigation, business standards compliance, regulatory compliance and intellectual property.

According to the company, Boise was most recently senior vice president, general counsel, head of Global Mergers and Acquisitions and corporate secretary at Avintiv. Before Avintiv, she was vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief privacy officer at Veyance Technologies. Prior to that, she held positions of increasing leadership responsibility including managing partner of the Cleveland office at Thompson Hine LLP. She was also a corporate attorney for Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP, Husch & Eppenberger, and Blackwell Sanders LLP, and was a labor relations associate at Ford Motor Co.
