Eaton names plant manager for Kearney facility

Eaton has named Ed Doerr plant manager for its Kearney, NE, facility. The appointment is effective April 15, 2015.

The Kearney facility produces engine valves for global vehicle manufacturers.

Doerr will be responsible for developing and driving the long-term strategy and direction of the Kearney plant, the company said. This includes initiating growth opportunities as well as enhancing safety, employee engagement, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.

“Ed has demonstrated strong leadership qualities throughout his career with Eaton that have helped improve the safety and efficiency of our operations,” said Kathy Grisdela, director of operations, Automotive North America a. “His cross-functional experience, creative problem solving and communication skills will be a great asset to the Kearney team.”

Doerr has held positions of increasing responsibility since joining Eaton as a business team leader in the Vehicle Group’s Truck business in 2003. He most recently was plant manager for the company’s Aerospace facility in Euclid, OH. Doerr was plant manager at Eaton’s Vehicle Group facilities in Shenandoah, IA, and Auburn, IN, and was a product line manager. Prior to joining Eaton, Doerr worked for Raytheon Aircraft Company and Boeing Commercial Airplane Group.
