National Association of Independent Truckers offers ConnectedHealth plans, benefit options

Sept. 5, 2014

The National Assn. of Independent Truckers (NAIT) is now offering its members the Truckers Insurance Exchange Marketplace (TIE) from ConnectedHealth.

TIE is a consumer-focused ecommerce benefits platform, NAIT said. Members will be able to shop for public and private market health insurance plans and other ancillary products on the platform. Both NAIT and ConnectedHealth are jointly working with a key consultant of Truckers Insurance Exchange, Marc Ballard, to launch the new platform in September.

“NAIT is proud to provide a wide variety of membership benefits that serve the needs of owner operators and reduce the cost of running a trucking business,” said David King, vice president, NAIT. “We wanted to make it easy for all of our members to be compliant with ACA requirements by giving them better access to healthcare coverage. Members can enroll in affordable, quality healthcare options easily online or by telephone. ConnectedHealth’s decision-support tools and intuitive approach really set them apart from other options we were considering.”

According to NAIT, ConnectedHealth provides an easy-to-use ecommerce platform that is also fully integrated with the federal marketplace. The site helps consumers successfully navigate the complexities associated with selecting health benefits.

“More and more organizations are moving away from traditional benefits models and public exchanges toward private exchange options,” said Joe Donlan, president of ConnectedHealth. “As such, we’re seeing huge demand from all types of businesses and groups, like NAIT, for our flexible shopping platform. We are excited to partner with NAIT and provide their members access to affordable, comprehensive healthcare coverage, along with the tools needed to help guide them through their selections.”
