Truckers will have the chance to win $15,000 in the Real Life Trucking Hero contest sponsored by Progressive Insurance. From April until October, Progressive will award six cash prizes of $1,000 (one per month for six months) to winning drivers.
On Oct. 31, a panel of judges will award one of the six monthly winners with the grand prize — $15,000 and the title of “Real Life Trucking Hero.”
Anyone can nominate their favorite trucker, and for any reason. Whether someone has taken the time to help a motorist in need, made a delivery in record time or been a road warrior for several years, they could be a winner.
Essays about the nominated truckers will appear on Progressive’s website and the public will be able to vote on their favorite nominee each month to select the winners.
“Truckers help keep this country running, and deserve to be recognized for their efforts,” said Tom Corpus, commercial auto product manager at Progressive. “The Real Life Trucking Hero Contest is our way of showing them our appreciation.”
