    Transplace appoints intermodal business unit president

    Transplace announced the appointment of Doug Punzel as president of Celtic International, the company’s intermodal business unit.
    Transplace announced the appointment of Doug Punzel as president of Celtic International, the company’s intermodal business unit. Punzel will report to Transplace CEO Tom Sanderson. Punzel joined Celtic International in 2014 as vice president of sales. “Over the past two years, he has been instrumental in the company’s growth and has helped lead Celtic’s entry into the Mexico cross-border intermodal market,” the company said.According to the company, Punzel brings more than 30 years of transportation industry experience to his new role, spending much of his career with Schneider National’s intermodal business. “As more and more shippers are looking to integrate intermodal into their transportation operations, Transplace is committed to best positioning ourselves to enable our customers to take advantage of the opportunities available with intermodal,” Sanderson said. “We know that Doug’s experience and leadership will help us realize the full potential for this business.” “We have a great team at Celtic International and I look forward to my new role in taking the company forward,” Punzel added.
