    July 22, 2014

Transport America has made two new appointments in its truckload and logistics operations. Kelly Polk is now vice president of team division and Michael Spencer is now vice president of SE regional division.

Polk spent 27 years with Schneider National in various capacities, including operations, process improvement, associate relations and most recently as director of operations-port logistics.

“Kelly is a relationship oriented leader who has vast industry experience, a positive attitude and strong work ethic that fits our goal of attracting top talent to Transport America,” said Scott Arves, president & CEO.

Spencer worked as a transportation consultant for the last 3 years, and has been in the industry for a total of 26 years. He was Land Transportation's president, worked at Hub Group, National Freight, and CSX Intermodal, among others.

“Michael’s experience and list of accomplishments is extensive.  We feel that his team-based management style, strategic vision, and impeccable integrity will help our SE regional division grow even stronger, and are delighted to have him on board," said Keith Klein, executive vice president & COO.
