Jan. 14, 2014

The law firm of Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary has opened two new offices and added the law expertise of Thomas E. O’Donnell. O’Donnell will lead the firm’s new offices in Mount Ephraim, NJ, and Philadelphia.

Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary, which specializes in transportation law, now has 11 offices nationwide. They are located in Indianapolis, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chattanooga, Detroit, Spokane, Dallas/Fort Worth and Milwaukee.

“We’ve noticed over the years a need for seasoned transportation attorneys in the Philadelphia area,” said Greg Feary, President of the Scopelitis firm and one of its Managing Partners. “Tom’s joining us there gives us a valuable resource in the northeast corridor, a key area for our transportation clients.”

O’Donnell brings considerable experience in transportation regulatory compliance, contracts, and commercial agreements from his roles as in-house counsel for two major less-than-truckload carriers over the past 14 years, both headquartered in New Jersey. In those roles O’Donnell ensured company compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations; was responsible for driver’s conforming to federal and state safety regulatory law; directed FMCSA compliance reviews and on-site inspections; provided regulatory training for new and existing employees; and drafted and reviewed freight contracts, real estate leases, non-disclosure and other commercial agreements.
