U.S. Bank launches new online gateway to bank services for carriers

Oct. 22, 2013

ORLANDO, FL. U.S. Bank chose the American Trucking Associations’ annual Management Conference & Exhibition here in Orlando to officially introduce its new online landing page, which was developed to function as a gateway to all U.S. Bank integrated services for carriers-- from freight payment and equipment financing to the Over the Road card solutions.

According to the company the new landing page underscores the bank’s overall commitment to carriers and to helping fleets tackle three key challenges: reducing financial shortcomings, improving process efficiencies and minimizing cost.

The bank’s fuel card offerings now include two options: the original U.S. Bank Over the Road Card which allows secure fuel and additive purchases at thousands of truck stops and retailers and the Over the Road Plus card, introduced in June, which adds additional functions, including convenience checks to use where cards are not accepted and the ability to disburse cash advances, pre-approved per diems and funding for emergency repairs.

The transparency of working with a bank for fueling and other financial services is appealing to many carriers, Gustav Khambatta, head of transportation and fuel solutions sales for U.S. Bank told Fleet Owner.

We are a truly neutral third party, Ramel Lindsay, fleet product manager for U.S. Bank, added. For carriers, that transparency and reliability creates a level of trust.

U.S. Bank also announced that the bank is moving its fuel card programs entirely in-house, beginning next month.  The operation will be based in Overland Park, KS.
