Volvo bundles support services

Feb. 22, 2012

TAMPA, FL. In a move to simplify after-sale support for customers, Volvo Trucks North America has launched what it’s calling Volvo Truck Support Services, an integrated menu of services offered from a single source.

Central to the new offering is bundled roadside protection service provided at no charge on all trucks during the base two-year warranty period. It also includes what the company is calling “Volvo Action Service,” which allows owners to begin and manage any repair either online or over the phone.

The third element in the standard service bundle is a web-based tool for managing the entire repair process from receiving estimates directly from dealerships to issuing purchase orders and maintaining an electronic record of all service activities by individual vehicle. Called ASIST, it is also offered at no charge with the purchase of a new truck.

Other support options available through the new single source service include full contract maintenance, leasing and rental, extended warranty coverages, online access to parts searches and purchases, and around-the-clock access to purchase and repair histories.

“Bundling truck support services can help protect assets, improve operational efficiency, offer a ‘one-stop shop’ for service and parts information and provides the fleet options to manage costs,” said David Pardue, Volvo Trucks vice president, aftermarket solutions. “Volvo Trucks Support Services provides all of these advantages while simplifying truck operation and maintenance.”
