The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) has appointed Sarah Smith as its vice chair. WIT announced in a release that Smith will work with the organization's officers, board of directors, and staff in guiding its mission. In addition to this volunteer leadership role, Smith is SVP of human resources at Penske Transportation Solutions.
“We are extremely pleased to have Sarah in this leadership role as she brings a depth of experience that will be invaluable to the association,” Jennifer Hedrick, president and CEO of WIT, said.

In her current role at Penske, Smith leads teams responsible for corporate and field human resources as well as diversity and inclusion. Over the course of her career, she has held several other positions at Penske, including director of labor relations and VP of human resources operations. Additionally, Smith worked as an attorney in private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Wilkes University, as well as a Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
