Fuel prices continue to fall

The average U.S. retail pump price for diesel continued to drop this week – down 4.2 cents to $2.379 per gallon, according to EIA.
The average U.S. retail pump price for diesel continued to drop this week – down 4.2 cents to $2.379 per gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The price is $1.156 per gallon cheaper than the same time last year.Prices were down across the country, paced by the Midwest, where the cost fell 6.3 cents to $2.348. In the Lower Atlantic, the price of a gallon of diesel fell 6 cents to $2.295, and the Gulf Coast remained the lowest price for a gallon of diesel in the nation – dropping 2.2 cents to $2.232. Gasoline prices were also down this week to $2.053 per gallon from last week’s $2.059. The only region to see an increase was the Midwest, where prices were up 1.3 cents to $1.890.The Gulf Coast (at $1.816) and Lower Atlantic (at $1.983) were the only other two regions to see prices fall below the $2-per-gallon mark.
