Gilbarco Veeder-Root has added its new Atlas DEF dispenser to its Gasboy dispenser product line. The Atlas DEF dispenser is designed for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) for commercial and fleet operators. DEF is required for vehicles using selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to reduce engine emissions.

The new dispenser is fully compatible with Gasboy and other existing fleet management systems and uses the same communication interfaces as standard Atlas dispensers, the company said.

“Buying DEF in bulk and leveraging existing fleet management system infrastructure to manage it will be the cost-effective choice for fleet operators who have an increasing number of vehicles that require DEF,” said Kevin DeVinney, Gasboy marketing manager.

The company said the new dispenser uses a unique Weights & Measures-approved mass flow meter with no moving parts to accurately measure DEF. A thermostat-controlled, heated cabinet prevents DEF from freezing or crystallizing.
