Hyundai Translead, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co., has announced its HT Original dry freight van trailer has been approved for the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership Program.

The company, which manufactures dry and refrigerated van trailers, domestic containers, container chassis and converter dollies, can now produce the trailer to EPA SmartWay specifications for customers who wish to reduce emissions and save fuel.

“As a top U.S. trailer manufacturer, we believe working with the EPA was a project we needed to take very seriously for the betterment of our environment and the transportation industry,” said Stuart James, vp of sales for Hyundai Translead. “This is a great option for customers looking to ‘go green’ while lowering their fuel costs.”
