With more than 400 fleets tracking over 135,000 trailers with its Global Locating System, SkyBitz says it has signed up eight more fleets fort its wireless trailer tracking system.
The new customers include Altom Transport, a Midwestern tanker fleet with 250 trailers, Commidity Express Transportation, a truckload carrier with 275 trailers, and Global Tank Leasing, which leases over 300 tanker trailers to the chemical, petroleum and trucking industries.
Other new for-hire fleets adopting the SkyBitz system are Rapid Transfer Xpress, a Mexican/U.S. cross-border carrier with 200 trialers, SDJ Trucking, a contract carrier for the furniture industry, and Tome Joy & Son, a full-service freight management company in the eastern U.S. with approximately 275 trailers.
Two private fleet operations have also signed service contracts for the SkyBitz tracking technology: Setton Pistachio, with 150 trailers in its nut-hauling fleet, and Tractor Supply Co., the largest retail farm and ranch store chain in the U.S., with more than 100 company trailers.
