A new solar-charging option makes the FleetView 3 trailer tracking and management system suitable for use with domestic intermodal containers, according to developer Terion.

Called FleetView 3C, the new charging option supports they system's GPS location tracking and wireless communications, as well as reefer data monitoring. The system uses land-based digital CDMA cellular networks for its wireless link, and offers a number of sensor options, including a patented cargo sensor.
