Truck fleet managers seeking more information on fleet management software options can turn to Arsenault Associates’ revised Vendor Evaluation Tool (VET) to ensure making better buying decisions, said the company.

The VET interactive calculator, previously available for use with fleet maintenance management software, now includes the ability to compare and contrast virtually any fleet software package – from dispatch to document management to maintenance – from any provider, according to Arsenault.

“The quality of a vendor is as important as the technology they provide,” said Charlie Arsenault, CEO. “This calculator will suggest questions fleet people may otherwise not think to ask. The VET applies a numerical value to each answer. Then each vendor’s score can be compared alongside their technology.”

VET is accessible on Arsenault’s website in either PDF form or as an Excel spreadsheet. The spreadsheet uses built-in calculations to perform the comparison based on information the user provides.

The PDF version includes all the questions, but calculations must be done manually.

“Those unaware of the often-overlooked considerations in VET have a 50-50 chance of making a bad buying decision,” Arsenault added. “They’ll be doomed to doing the entire technology search and deployment all over again, to say nothing about the loss of financial capital and time.”

Both versions of VET are available at this site: www.arsenault.com/content_pages/view/software_vendor_calculator.
