AT&T announced this week that the company will be providing a GPS-based asset tracking application by TeleNav for businesses and government agencies to monitor and report the location of their portable assets in field operations. Delivered as software-as-a service (SaaS), the TeleNav Asset Tracker provides location-based information on field-based assets such as machinery, equipment, containers and vehicles.
The announcement with TeleNav is the latest extension of AT&T’s portfolio of location-based mobile business applications. It is currently available to AT&T enterprise mobility customers.
“TeleNav Asset Tracker from AT&T is an innovative and cost-effective solution for a wide range of customer requirements,” said Igor Glubochansky, director, industry solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “Whether companies are managing valuable cargo, vehicles, or – like AT&T’s own field operations – generators for business continuity, this solution can deliver fast ROI and increased visibility into location and status of mission-critical operations.”

“We developed TeleNav Asset Tracker to provide organizations of any size, across any industry, with asset location information that management can access from virtually anywhere at any time via the Web,” said Sal Dhanani, co-founder and vp, products & marketing for TeleNav. “We’ve worked closely with AT&T to incorporate features such as motion sensors for improved battery life and to use the same, easy-to-use Web-based interface as our existing TeleNav Track workforce and fleet applications.”
