Nokia has completed its previously announced acquisition of Navteq, valued at approximately $8.1 billion, Navteq announced.

Under the terms of the agreement, Navteq common stock ceased trading on the New York Stock Exchange yesterday, and stockholders are entitled to receive $78.00 in cash without interest and less any applicable withholding taxes for each share owned prior to the merger.

Navteq said its maps will still be broadly available and the acquisition will allow the company to improve its map and traffic capabilities.
