PeopleNet's Automated Workflow has been integrated with CAMS route optimization software to offer real-time route delivery tracking information

PeopleNet’s Automated Workflow has been integrated with CAMS route optimization software to offer real-time route delivery tracking information. The announcement was made the International Food Distribution Assns. 2010 Distribution Solutions Conference and Exhibition.

“We are pleased to partner with a leader in back-office transportation management systems for the grocery and retail distribution market,” said Randy Boyles, PeopleNet vp of tailored solutions. “In addition to automating delivery of optimized routes to drivers, our new integration tracks actual arrival, departure and delays associated with each stop. Having planned vs. actual delivery information available in real time provides fleet managers greater visibility into driver/vehicle activities and helps them adjust allocation of driver and vehicle resources.”

The combined system will offer real-time information on a driver’s route, including arrival and departure times, delays, travel time and mileage. This information will automatically populate the appropriate fields in electronic forms, eliminating the need for drivers to manually input the data.

“Our integration with PeopleNet adds a unique dimension to CAMS—arrival information,” said David Gagnon, CAMS director of technology. “While departure information has been available through other integrations, the addition of arrival information through PeopleNet’s Automated Workflow application and geofences provides complete real-time trip progress information.”
