Brent Russell has been named vp, national sales for GE's Trailer Fleet Services business in the U.S. He joined GE in 1991, most recently serving as Eastern Division sales vp for the trailer services division.

UniGroup Inc., the parent of household goods movers Mayflower Transit and United Van Lines, will install the SkyBitz GLS 200 trailer tracking system in its fleet of more than 10,000 trailers. It is replacing an older system that was only able to send trailer location information when the trailer was tethered to a tractor.

TerraTrace ERP from Archetype Inc. allows trailer, tractor and other asset tracking to be integrated with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms such as SAP, PeopleSoft and Oracle, according to the developer. The hosted system offers untethered trailer tracking throughout North America. Trailcon currently owns or maintains a fleet of 5,000 trailers.
