Cargo Transporters, a North Carolina-based truckload carrier, says it will install the new Qualcomm OmniVision mobile computing and communications system in its fleet of 440 vehicles. The fleet is currently using Qualcomm's T2 untethered trailer tracking system and had previously used the company's OmniTRACS mobile communications system.
The NovaTracker Maya is an in-vehicle GPS-equipped wireless data hub that easily integrates with most vehicle-tracking software, according to the developer. With two digital and one analog inputs, as well as optional Bluetooth and USB connections, the Maya system can monitor up to 16 variables chosen by the fleet user, according to NovaTracker. www.novatracker.com
East Central Energy, a Minnesota-based utility company with a fleet of 185 vehicles, has installed Dossier maintenance management software, according to software developer Arsenault Associates. The member-owned cooperative provides electric, Internet and long-distance phone services to 56,000 customers in 12 counties.
The Keller-Soft Safety Incentives and Awards Tracker software package from J.J. Keller and Assocs. Inc. helps fleets develop, manage and report on driver bonus and awards programs. Allowing fleets to establish and maintain customized driver programs, it calculates driver eligibility based on length of employment, and cumulative safe mileage, as well as reports on award and bonus status by driver or location.
