Joining Qualcomm's expertise in mobile communications with Snap-On's diagnostic tools and systems, a new strategic partnership has been created to develop advanced remote diagnostic systems.
The first step in the new relationship will be integrating Snap-On's eTechnician, a web-based remote vehicle monitoring and diagnostics application, with Qualcomm's OmniTRACS wireless fleet management system. That integration will allow OmniTRACS users to remotely control truck operating parameters and diagnose equipment problems.
The two companies say they will also jointly explore new asset management solutions for truck manufacturers and applications for emerging vehicle command and control security systems.
