RFID systems provider Axcess International Inc. has branched out from its base of vocational customers into the trucking industry with FleetTag, a system designed to be integrated with stand-alone gate controllers and yard management software. It will include a selection of RFID tags that can be mounted on truck bodies and trailers and windshields, as well as personnel tags for drivers.

The system includes software that enables real-time tracking of the tags while providing email alerts, trend analysis and customized report generation. It can also be easily linked to existing database applications, according to Axcess.
