Sysco opts for Xata

Xata Corp. has announced the company will provide onboard computer technology for food service distributor Sysco Corp.

Xata Corp. has announced the company will provide onboard computer technology for food service distributor Sysco Corp.

Xata will implement its fleet operations software Xatanet for Sysco beginning in the first quarter of 2008. Sysco’s private fleet consists of over 9,000 vehicles at 177 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

"We are excited about the opportunities presented by a common onboard technology platform across our organization," said Gary Cullen, vp of distribution services at Sysco. "Ultimately, this is about improving safety and efficiency. The tools provided by Xatanet should be invaluable towards increasing fleet safety, fuel efficiency, and customer service."
