Sterling Truck Corp. has announced a crew cab option for its Acterra medium-duty vocational truck line, as well as a factory-authorized all-wheel drive (AWD) conversion for both 4×2 and 6×4 configurations.

Said to be the largest interior passenger compartment in the market, the new crew cab's interior runs 113 in. from the front to the rear wall.

The 4-door cab features a 163-in. BBC, a tall concave roof, all-welded steel construction and air-ride cab suspension. It accommodates five passengers with a rear bench seat and two fixed or air-ride front seats.

The Acterra Crew Cab will be offered with GVWs ranging from 19,000 to 46,000 lb., and with the standard truck's full line of engine and powertrain options.

The new AWD conversion is manufactured by Fabco Automotive Corp. and requires no step-frame modifications. It comes with front axle ratings of 12,000, 14,000 and 16,000 lb, ., and with either one- or two-speed transfer cases.

It also features an offset front drive carrier axle and transfer case design said to minimize vehicle height and weight while allowing the use of a one-piece driveshaft.
