Two electronically driven auxiliary air conditioning units from Espar provide sleeper and cab cooling without engine idling.
The two complement Espar's Airtronic D2 diesel-fired bunk heater, offering year round cab comfort control, according to the company.
The Bergstrom Nite system mounts under the bunk and has a cooling output of 3,000 Btu/hr. The 12V system requires 300 to 350 watts of power. It weighs 70 lb. and measures 22-in. long by 16-in. wide by 11-in. high.
The roof-mounted DC Airco system offers 9,000 to 10,000 Btu/hr. cooling output running on either 12V or 24V.
It requires 430 watts of power and weighs 88 lb. The rooftop unit measures 39.4-in. long by 30.3-in. wide by 12.4-in. high.
Both are said to be easy to install and do not interfere with truck HVAC systems or warranties.
