The ruggedized PDT 8000 handheld computer from Symbol Technologies features a large high-resolution color display with touch screen and a new 32-bit Intel processor.
Running the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 operating system, the new handheld model includes an integrated bar-code scanner and has the ability to communicate over a variety of wireless local and wide area networks.
Designed for route sales and service applications, the PDT 8000 offers advanced audio and video capabilities, according to Symbol, offering a clear display even in sunlight.
The mobile computer can also withstand repeated drops to concrete and extreme variations in temperature, the maker says.
