Trucking industry information specialist Transportation Technical Services Inc. has developed an online database with detailed information on over 67,000 fleets. The new web-based service is intended for fleets, suppliers and others needing accurate data.

The new product, called FleetSeek (www.fleetseek.com), includes profiles on nearly 30,000 North American fleets with financial details on the largest 2,400 carriers. It also incorporates addresses, fleet inventories and contact names for 31,000 private fleets and 6,500 owner-operators. Changes to the database are made daily.

The subscription-based Internet service allows users to search the database by company name, type or size of fleet, vehicle GVW classes, state, city, zip code or SIC code. Results can be downloaded for export to spreadsheets, word processors, contact management systems or other common software applications.

One of the first to sign up for the new online database service was Volvo Trucks of North America, which is encouraging its 256 North American dealers to use the database for local market research.
