Diesel filter and exhaust system supplier Fleetguard has formed partnerships with several companies to bolster its new Emission Solutions division, which is focused on developing complete exhaust systems to reduce oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) emissions from diesel engines and powerplants. Technology from those companies will be combined with Fleetguard's exhaust packaging and system integration capabilities to reduce diesel engine emissions.

Johnson Matthey is supplying a variety of catalytic converter devices to help retrofit Cummins diesel engines to meet future emission standards. Engelhard is providing components for particulate filters and oxidation catalysts. Siemens will supply catalyst components for certain Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) devices — an aftertreatment system for meeting 2007 emission reduction targets. Motorola will provide hardware for its advanced particulate filter control systems and 3M will supply composite substrate material for advanced emission control devices.
