The Holland Group has introduced NoLube, its next generation of landing gear technology. Although it doesn't eliminate the need for preventive maintenance, NoLube does provide a completely sealed system for maximum lubrication that requires no additional grease. It also prevents water and outside contaminants from entering the gearbox.
The NoLube option includes a grease tube that surrounds the elevating screw so that when the legs are raised or lowered the screw gets a shot of grease. Shaft seals are added to the crankshaft and driveshaft bushings to prevent outside contamination. Finally, the gearbox and upper leg cavities are filled with grease, eliminating the need for grease fittings.
NoLube is offered with the Holland Mark V and Holland Binkley 50,000 for heavy-duty applications; the Holland Formula 150 and Holland Binkley 51,000 for standard medium-duty and replacement applications; and the Holland Binkley Fast Gear 4000.
Grote Industries introduced a line of red and yellow beehive clearance/marker LED lamps that can be easily retrofitted since they have the same female pin termination as standard incandescent models.
Visibility is increased through the use of symmetrical optics, which means the lamps don't need orientation for optimal light diffusion. The beehive shape also makes them easier to see. The new 2- and 2.5-in. lights feature spin-welded lenses and the Grote UBS Double Seal Pigtail to ensure a tight fit.
The company has also taken the wraps off a small LED aerodynamic cab marker lamp with a replaceable lens. The new aerocab marker fits the same mounting application as the incandescent version, making it easy to retrofit.
Since the lamp does not have to be sealed to protect the LED, lens replacement is an economical option, according to Grote.
