Michelin has designed an “ultra-fuel-efficient” drive axle radial dual for fleets using low-profile 22.5-in. tires. The XDA Energy offers an additional 1-2% fuel savings over existing fuel-efficient duals, and up to 5% fuel savings over high-mileage duals, depending on vehicle configuration.

According to Michelin, the new tire has a tread depth of 26/32nds, for longer original life. The warranty is described as 7 yr/700,000 mi. and three retread casings.

Rectangular bead construction means easy mounting and long casing life, says Michelin.
