Caterpillar's C9 engine and an extended day cab are two new vocational options for Kenworth vocational trucks. The C9 is now available for the W900S mixer and T800 models, including the short hood and front-engine power takeoff configurations. Two versions of the C9 will be offered: 350 hp. and 1,250 ft.-lb. of torque at 2,200 rpm; and a 335 hp. with 1,150 ft.-lb. of torque at 2,200 rpm.
An extended day cab option is now available for the W900S mixer model, adding six inches to the length and five inches to the cab height. It also offers two more inches behind the wheel, additional leg room, up to 21 degrees of recline in the driver's seat, and two extra cubic feet of storage.
In addition, Kenworth has moved the steering gear on the W900S forward ahead of the axle and added longer front springs as part of a front-end redesign that increases wheel cut by four degrees and reduces overall turning radius.
