Charles M. Rottmund was installed as chairman of the National Private Truck Council at the group's annual meeting last month. Director of safety and the national training center for BOC Gases of Butler, PA, Rottmund previously served as vice-chairman of the association's board of directors.
Harry J. Haney, III, another new board member, was named Private Fleet Executive of the Year at the NPTC conference in Austin, TX. The private fleet manager for Kraft Foods, Haney has profit and loss responsibility for a fleet of 450 trucks operating out of 30 locations.
The group's Fleet Safety Professional of the Year was Jerry Banik, a fleet manager for Pfizer, Inc.
